We have successfully gone live with Children’s Health Care and Colden & Seymour Ear, Nose and Throat and Allergy and have opted in some 80 patients in just this week. We are changing workflows and documents on the basis of this very successful experience and we couldn’t be more excited about how well things are going. Next week we hope to train and onboard Whittier Medical Associates and James DiResta, Podiatry. They will be stage 2 of the pilot using new workflows and documents.

During the first week in September we hope to formally go live with every other eCW in-house server practice that has signed on. We also anticipate Pentucket Medical Associates going live that same week. At that point we will proudly include practices from three networks, Steward, Partners and BIDCO. You can see all the practices already signed up and their anticipated starting dates by going to http://wellporthealth.net/practices.html. We continue constructive discussions with outside parties, most recently CVS Minute Clinic and the Veteran’s Administration. If and when we partner with the VA, clinicians will be able to view those patients’ records even if they were entered on another continent a day earlier.

Wellport presents a continuous longitudinal record of all patient activity and provides patients with the ability to view, download and transmit their Protected Health Information in an encrypted environment. It helps with so many of the measures for Meaningful Use Stage 2. You can listen to three podcasts about HIE participation and Meaningful Use at http://www.himss.org/library/podcasts/hie-in-practice?navItemNumber=17053.
